Really helpful
Great book.
I liked it but would like it be more detailed in daily care, like if they need to covered at night time.
This book was not very informative on taming or training your bird. It did not give complete details on how to hand tame a bird and teach it tricks. I'm familiar with the steps so knew what was missing. I would not recommend this book to new owners. It would give the!m a false expectation of how a new bird typically acts towards a new person.
What I did like about the book was the focus on getting birds from a reputable breeder and signs to look for with birds that are not being cared for well. The author obviously has great love and respect for parakeets. He just was not very complete on his information.
Lot of information and interesting facts about parakeets. Easy to read.
My parakeets were purchased from a previous owner who had them for 1.5 yrs. Needed info for older birds and training ideas. They are scared to death of anything.
It's a good beginner book and has some good information.
